There isn't a fixed price for award travel. The number of points required can vary based on the airline, route, cabin class, season, and even the day you fly. For example, a business-class flight to Europe might cost anywhere from 50,000 to 150,000 points each way, depending on which airline and loyalty program you use. The exact same seat can cost dramatically different amounts depending on how you book it.

Some airlines release award seats nearly a year before departure, while others add availability much closer to the travel date. Popular routes and premium cabins often disappear quickly, especially during holidays and peak travel seasons.
As a general guideline:
11–12 months ahead: Best for peak travel dates and the highest chance of securing business or first class.
3–9 months ahead: Often a great window for many international trips.
Within 30 days: Last-minute award space can appear, especially in business class, if you're flexible.
The good news is that you don't have to figure this out on your own.
